Medveja is a small seaside village on Croatia’s eastern coast in the Kvarner Bay. Surrounded by mountains and clear blue waters, it’s a peaceful place to relax. Legend says the town’s name comes from the Greek witch Medea, who loved this area. Today, Medveja is perfect for those looking for quiet, scenic holidays close to towns like Lovran and Opatija.
Medveja Beach has smooth pebbles, shallow, clear water perfect for kids, and plenty of trees for shade. There’s also a water park and some restaurants and bars.

A mountain range just behind Medveja with forests, peaks, and walking trails. The highest point, Vojak, offers great views and has a tower from 1911.

There’s an ATM at the entrance to the campsite. More ATMs and a post office are in Lovran. Banks are in Opatija and Rijeka.
A mini-market in Medveja covers daily needs. For bigger shopping, go to Lovran. The largest grocery store is approximately 2 km away (Plodine, Lovran). Local markets sell olive oil, cheeses, cured meats, and homemade products..
Try local dishes like prosciutto, cheese, truffle pasta, and fresh seafood at local taverns. Family owned tavern "Konoba Kali" is recommended for Mediterranean and Croatian cuisine and cosy atmosphere.
BY CAR: About 520 km from Munich, approximately 6-7 hours of driving. Follow the main roads from Germany through Austria and Slovenia to Croatia
BY PLANE: The closest airports are Pula (82 km away) and Rijeka (49 km away). From the airport, you can rent a car, take a taxi, or arrange a transfer.
